The Chef Table @ The CookHouse

The Chefs Table London is pleased to announce that we will be launching a brand new pop-up restaurant at Borough Market’s cookhouse from Saturday the 18th of March 2017.
Table London was designed by two young chefs that wanted to create food that is experimental, unique and which uses produce that is sourced locally. The aim being to elevate each ingredient to its full potential without "disturbing" the quality of the product. All of the produce used has been directly sourced from the market The ethos, being able to show how to make an ingredient as tasty as possible when you don't play around too much with it and allowing it to naturally show itself off.

A little about The Chefs ....

Sam began his Career at the age of 15 working at the highly respectable and internationally known Savoy Grill in London owned by Gordon Ramsay. At the age of 16, Sam then moved to Marcus @ The Berkeley hotel. This is where Sam spent 2 and a half years learning his trade, getting inspired by his senior chefs in the kitchen and understanding the traditional way of cooking food. Now at 18, Sam has decided to start his own project hoping to be able to show his creativity.

Alberto started cooking when he joined the Fifteen Apprentice Programme run by Jamie Oliver in 2015. He spent a year training under the chefs at Fifteen, which taught him the basic foundations of cooking all the way to teaching him complex and diverse cooking techniques to launch him into his future career. During his time on the Apprentice Programme, Alberto learnt the Jamie Oliver food ethos, spending time directly with diverse suppliers and learning about the produce that is used at the restaurant first hand. Once the apprenticeship was completed and graduating from the programme with a distinction, Alberto then moved to Marcus @ The Berkeley to continue his career.

About the Table

The Chefs Table is a totally diverse dining experience compared to your normal fine-dining ambiance. It is a 10 seater table which is situated inside borough market in a small space called the Cookhouse. As you walk up the narrow flight of stairs you enter an intimate yet homely atmosphere. The two chefs' goal behind this project is to introduce a dining experience that allows customer and chef to interact with each other. Open Friday and Saturday lunch and dinner. One sitting for lunch and two sittings for dinner.

What does this mean?

Well you can either get involved with the cooking, trying to be the next Masterchef, or you can sit down and just enjoy the whole dining experience while the two chefs take you on a voyage of a 6 course tasting menu which showcases the best of British produce. Each course will be served by one of the chefs. The stoves are located directly opposite the table, so you'll be able to see every little detail that happens and witness each element of the dish come to life on the plate in front of your very eyes. The dish will then be explained as its being served, where the produce was sourced and what different techniques were used. Accompanied with this you'll have your own private sommelier that will take you on a voyage across the vineyards of France, Italy and Spain.

Do I have to book the whole 10 Seater table?

Absolutely not, although it is recommended to come as a group of 10, the chef’s table can be broken down into tables for 2,4,6,8 depending on availability. We can only sit a maximum of 10 people in the location.

Do you cater for dietary requirements?

Yes we do! However we do ask for 48 hour notice as the menu is subject to change weekly.
